Iris Hill is the Chief Exploring Storyteller and Creative Director at Storytellers & Scout Ants. The mission: to inspire an immeasurable amount of children to find their home in nature… one magically curious tale at a time.

Exploring since she could walk, Iris has shared some wildly curious adventures with nature. A baby bear in Yosemite stole her spoon and drank her dishwater.  A wise young lynx in Canada told her too many of the secrets of the universe. The California ravens transformed into pirates, burying treasure in fields, and the whales in San Ignacio Lagoon challenged her to a karaoke competition! But it didn’t end there: los lobes del mar of Mexico taught her the art of swimming, and the Altadena newts showed her the true meaning of being toxic. It’s been a wild ride, and she’s learned a lot on the way.

For example: Did you know that there are fish that can climb trees? And that octopuses have 3 hearts? And corn is grass! A very large stalk of grass.

With every adventure, Iris faces her fears, experiences magical moments and explores the natural world with loving curiosity because that’s what she wants for the kids of the world.

Her background? It’s a mosaic of sorts: conservation biology, zoology, education, entertainment, and the powerful potential of a playful country heart.

Did you go out and explore today? Maybe you’ll meet Iris as she combines her passions to share the story of Mother Nature in the World.
